Hitachi Ltd. has made an agreement with Accudyne Industries to purchase the Illinois-based air-compressor manufacturer, Sullair (an Accudyne subsidiary), for US$1.245 billion.

Tokyo-based Hitachi Ltd. has agreed to acquire Sullair Air Compressors from its parent company Accudyne Industries for $1.245 billion. Hitachi said its goal in the acquisition is to gain access to Sullair’s global sales network, primarily in North America.
Hitachi announced Tuesday it is purchasing Sullair, air compressor manufacturing company based in Illinois, from Luxembourg-based Accudyne Industries for $1.24 billion in a move designed to mesh greater global market presence with data monitoring.

(TSE:6501, “Hitachi”) and Accudyne Industries (CEO：Charles Treadway; “Accudyne”) today announced that the two companies have entered into an agreement regarding Hitachi’s acquisition of Accudyne’s subsidiaries and certain related assets that manufacture and sell air compressors under the “Sullair” brand ( Sullair (President: John (Jack) Carlson)).
